We're going to start with a little introduction of Knapp's Cyclery.

Many of you who read our blog are from our local area in Central Jersey or New York City, and the same goes for Knapp's.  Knapp's Cyclery is an elite bicycle retail and service shop with two locations--one in Lawrenceville and one in Cranbury, New Jersey.

Knapp's is heavily involved in their community, they often host bike rides, sponsor events, and are also extremely charitable.  Not to mention, they have been sharing their passion of cycling for over 70 now!

So what's going on with Knapp's now?

The Anchor House Ride For Runaways

Right now, Knapp's is preparing for one of their biggest and most important events of the summer!  Yes, you guessed it, it's the 35th Annual Anchor House Ride For Runaways.

Read about Anchor House here, and we'll go over a quick summary.  Anchor House is a local organization based out of Trenton, New Jersey.  Their goal is to provide a safe place for homeless and abused teens.  They provide everything from shelter, to clothing, and food for teens in need.

Beyond the physical, they also offer a way for children to mend relationships with family, and when reunification is not possible they offer them a safe haven.  Older teens are taught the skills they need to lead a stable and independent adult life.  They offer teens hope

This 35th annual charity bike ride is in support of Anchor House, raising not just money, but awareness for the cause.  Over 200 riders will spend a week away from home, biking 500 miles through the Northeast.  Beginning the ride on July 13th in Vermont, the ride will make it's way through New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey finally returning to Knapps Cyclery.

How can you get involved?

Knapp's has done something pretty awesome, and they've released a limited set of charitable prints.  There are three prints, each representing Knapp's commitment to their local community.

One of them depicts Knapp's and the Anchor House ride, while the other two show Princeton, NJ and New Hope.  These are prints are not only beautiful, but they are for a good cause.  All of the proceeds are going directly to Anchor House.

These could be a great gift for any local cyclist, and for yourself!  The prints will be available throughout the summer, if you'd like one simply contact Knapp's directly for details.

Of course, you can donate for the Anchor House bike ride, and check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

So, get involved, support the community and a great organization!

As always, if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us or Knapp's Cyclery for more information!
